After losing their college scouting director after one year, the Bears are going in-house for a replacement who has been there a while.
According to Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Bears are promoting college scout Mark Sadowski to replace Joe Douglas, who is leaving for a personnel director job with the Eagles.
The Bears had the option to block Douglas from leaving, since the new job doesn’t include final say over the roster decisions, but opted to let him leave a year after joining Ryan Pace’s staff.
Sadowski has 17 years of experience in the NFL, the last 10 with the Bears. He was their senior national scout last year, and worked previously as their Southeast area scout.
