Packers sign third-rounder Kyle Fackrell, leaving just first-rounder

The Packers took care of third-rounder Kyle Fackrell Thursday, meaning most of their draft pick business is done.

Via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, getting the Utah State linebacker under contract leaves just first-rounder Kenny Clark as their last remaining pick to be signed.

Fackrell’s coming into the league with more experience than most rookies.

He’s already 24, one of the oldest members of his draft class. They could use some immediate help from him, as they need more pass-rush options behind Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers.

  1. I think this will be Peppers’ last year. (maybe 30% chance for 1 more)..

And this guy could be his successor.

I won’t predict his production, but I think they drafted him at this time, to groom him for a year, then take over next.

  2. 24? Must’ve failed his masters degree.
Everyone hears of a team getting younger; but in green bay, they get older & none the wiser.

  3. These guys could end up being good players. Our draftees have no choice but to sign with our Packers. I am grateful for that. Players don’t want to be in Green Bay.

  4. Fans of a team with Terrence Newman at CB making comments about old players? Next thing you know fans of a team that hasn’t won a single World Championship EVER will be trolling a successful one, too.
    Oh… wait a minute…

    Fackrell’s 40 time = 4.62

    Treadwell’s 40 time = 4.64

Seems our linebackers are faster than Minnesota’s receivers.

HA HA HA. It will be fun watching our linebackers run down Treadwell from behind.

That’s not true. I’ve spoken to them. They don’t want YOU to be in Green Bay.

Very odd statement to make about the team that is ALWAYS one of the youngest teams if not the youngest year in and year out under Ted Thompson.

In 2015 they were the 4th youngest team. Don’t ya just hate it when facts blow up in your face?

  8. Still think they’re foolish not to resign Mike Neal. By the end of the season, with injuries, they’ll need him.

Anyone interested in seeing an Adrian Peterson playoff win?
You’ll have to go to back in time – a time when that “Geriatric” Clay Matthews was a rookie – back when most of the current Packers weren’t even in College yet.

Sure, but you’re a fraud if you cut and paste. Rewrite it. Change it all. Change everything. Rewrite it all.

Otherwise, have another beer and pick another needless fight, like a good Viking fan.

  12. My friend stellar says he talks to Packers players about me.

I can only imagine what other voices he hears.

  13. sheesh, that lamebo dungbarn is looking horrible, should probably be declared un safe, un fit for use, before people get injured in that place. C’MON NFL GET THE DUNGBARN REPLACED WOULD YA….GO VIKES!!! HAHAHA

Because, everybody knows the only thing that matters is a player’s 40 time, in shorts and t-shirts. I guess this will prove that Fackrell will be the best LB in the North, since Barr only ran a 4.66 at the combine. It doesn’t matter that he’s one of the fastest guys on the field when suited up and things matter. I’m not saying anything about Fackrell, the kid played very well at Utah State. But, people bashing a big-bodied, precision route running WR, that excells in winning the contested catches, because he ran a Jerry Rice/Steve Largent type time, really know NOTHING about football.

Nobody knows how any of these rookies will turn out at this point yet Packers fans proclaim how great each of their picks are. See, looks at these attributes. How can he not be a sleeper 3rd pick?

Why is it every year Packer fans think the Packer won the draft right after the draft?
