You can add another name to the list of first round picks under contract to their new teams.

The Ravens announced on Friday that they’ve signed tackle Ronnie Stanley. Stanley was the sixth overall pick, which means his four-year contract comes with a team option for a fifth year at a salary equal to that of the top 10 offensive linemen in the league.

There has been some discussion about whether the Ravens would have made Stanley the first tackle off the board had the video of Laremy Tunsil in a gas mask smoking from a bong not appeared, but Stanley’s stock rose steadily throughout the pre-draft process and there was talk that some teams preferred him over Tunsil for on-field reasons.

The end result is that Stanley is in Baltimore and is likely destined for the left tackle job. How soon he winds up there will have something to do with Eugene Monroe’s presence on the roster, but it’s a good bet that he’ll be starting somewhere up front for the Ravens from the start of his career.
