In the months leading up to any draft, people pick apart just about everything having to do with the top prospects.

One of the nitpicks found with Marcus Mariota in 2015 was that the quarterback was too quiet at a position that some feel calls for a more vocal leadership style. It’s something that Mariota said he wanted to change about himself this offseason and tight end Delanie Walker is among the teammates who have seen the difference.

“Marcus is just a leader,” Walker said, via the team’s website. “You can tell he is starting to be more vocal. I think he is starting to get more comfortable with the system, and the guys are knowing that he is a leader on this team. So his throwing is always going to be good. But he looks faster, and he seems like he is grasping the offense really well. I am excited to see what he does.”

It’s only natural that Mariota is going to get more comfortable in all aspects of life as a professional quarterback the longer that he is in the job. Regardless of where he winds up on the vocal spectrum, that should cement him as the leader of the offense in Tennessee and an essential building block to better Titans teams in the future.
