The Jaguars added another veteran piece to their offensive line on Thursday.
The team announced that they have signed guard Patrick Omameh as a free agent. Jacksonville also signed veterans Kelvin Beachum, Mackenzy Bernadeau and Jeff Linkenbach this offseason as they work on finding a better mix up front.
Omameh entered the NFL as an undrafted player in 2013 and landed on the 49ers practice squad before the Buccaneers signed him away. Omameh started all 16 games for Tampa during the 2014 season, but that didn’t help him hold onto a roster spot out of camp last year and he wound up with the Bears.
He made nine starts in Chicago and will join a slew of players, including Bernadeau and Linkenbach, in the competition for playing time on the interior of the line this season.
