Talib shooting suspect unknown, for now

Police have released the names of two other men who were shot on Sunday at the Dallas strip club where Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib had a bullet enter and exit his lower leg, according to Mike Klis of 9news.com in Denver. Police have not released the name of the suspect because the suspect remains unknown.

As to Talib, there’s a chance that the suspect is well known, to him. Chatter has emerged via online reports and speculation that Talib accidentally shot himself, presumably during the altercation sparked by the other shootings.

Indeed, one of the first rumors making the rounds among players after news broke of the incident was that Talib shot himself. As of Sunday, the possibility of a self-shooting was being explored by the Broncos, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

  1. Following in Giants WR foot steps. Win SB then promptly shoot yourself in a club. Next up on the ‘to do’ list fail to pay taxes.

  2. why carry a gun?

well he traveled to a strip club in his Rolls Royce, which is like wearing a sign that says, “I got more more money than all y’all put together!”

    sad.

  3. Come on, what kind of an idiot do you have to be to carry a gun and then shoot yourself? But then again this guy has never been known an a member of Mensa!

If he shot himself then he is an idiot. For what reason would he be carrying a loaded gun in public?

Thanks for clearing that up for us. If you say so it must be true. I always thought he was a genius myself but thanks for giving me a better understanding of his intelligence level.
As to the second part of your statement it sounds like someone was shooting at him so I’m going to deduce that his reason for carrying a loaded gun in public would be to protect himself if someone shot at him.

  5. Roger suspends for generally aware of something that most likely did not happen…you all love tough guy Roger… now a player with multiple gun incidents…let’s see how tough you want Roger to be on this one hypocrites.

  6. Shooting oneself is not as bad as possibly being aware of air being taken out of a ball that science proves didn’t happen. He’ll probably get a small fine of about $35,000. The same amount as an equipment violation.

  7. Buy a gun to protect yourself, only to shoot yourself. Happens more then you think. Even ralphie shot himself with his trusted red rifle

  8. It happened early sunday morning. How could you put your career and your future earnings at risk like that?

You know you could build a strip club in the basement of your mansion and have an open bar if you so wish.

  9. did Roger ever do anythying to Plexico?
I know the NY DA did, but Roger?

well a Giant got nothing from Roger, so I am sure a Bronco will get no punishment.

    Integrity for about 6 teams

    Dolphins
    Saints
    RedSkins
    Patriots
    Chiefs
    Boys

    the rest, okdokey

  10. So he Plaxicoed himself? He is a verry good player but doesn’t seem to be the sharpest knife on the rack…

You know, just maybe, the better plan might be to avoid strip clubs and dudes with guns. It’s painfully clear Talib has Aaron Hernandez syndrome. All the money in the world but can’t move on from the seedy life. When his career is over it’s a good bet that like Hernandez, Talib will be occupying a cell for life too.

  12. There should be an annual Plaxico Burress award given to athletes for the dumbest self-inflicted injury. JPP won last year by blowing off part of his hand with fireworks.

Talib is in the running for this years award, but really kind of a weak effort on his part.

  13. Shame – if only he’d aimed a little higher, he could have saved all future generations of humanity from witnessing such idiocy. Maybe next time…

  14. Isn’t this the 3rd gun related altercation Aqib has been involved in in the past few years? But Ray Rice is the one being black balled from the NFL. smfh

  15. Do they know where Wes Welker was at the time? He might have been trying to finish what he started a few years ago in the playoffs against Talib.

  16. So he went from shooting his mouth off to shooting himself in the leg. Seriously, who is surprised by this. If the story had been “Guess which Bronco shot himself in the leg at a strip club” who wouldn’t have guessed it was this guy.

As to carrying the gun, I don’t necessarily have a problem with that but personally I’m not going anywhere that I feel requires me to carry a gun to feel safe. This guy probably has enough money he could just hire some of these gals for a private party. But then he might not feel like a gangsta.

  17. The scandals and cheating never ends for one of the NFL$ darling franchises. Denver, Indy, NYJ, and Baltimore are the chosen teams of the Goodell Goon Squad. They are allowed to cheat, murder, maim, ignore salary caps, and tamper without fear of punishment.

If you aren’t a fan of those 4 teams you should be disgusted by the way the NFL is run. Especially the way this year’s SB was orchestrated for PEDton Manning.

  18. Knuckle head at KU, Knuckle head in Tampa & Boston, sad to see he is still a knuckle head. Hopefully he will mature before keepin’ it real, goes forever wrong.

  19. In Talib’s defense, shooting yourself in the leg happens more than you think when you are holding the gun sideways at a downward angle.

  20. Actually the Plaxico case was what spurred Goodell to change his standard of proof below “beyond a reasonable doubt.” Plax had the temerity to keep defending himself in court, and that made it hard for Roger to issue his punishment until the legal case was resolved. By dropping the standard of proof, Roger thought he’d be able to no longer have to worry about pesky things like due process and standards of evidence.

Of course as soon as he decided that he’d no longer need proof “beyond a reasonable doubt” it became inevitable that he’d punish somebody who was actually innocent. Courts use that standard for a good reason.

Aqib Talib can still play football. Ray Rice was already pretty much out of gas, which is the real reason he isn’t playing.

    ======================================

If he was carrying legally, which is a constitutional right, then it’s none of your business.

  23. “one of the first rumors making the rounds among players after news broke of the incident was that Talib shot himself”
    __________

What players? That part reads like a poor effort to make the rumor sound legitimate without actually tying it to anybody at all.

  24. Why would he carry a gun in public? As uncle Ted Nugent would reply, why not?
