Report: Claim against Agholor came after money dispute

The allegation of sexual assault a dancer made against Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor this week comes from a dispute she had with Agholor over how much money he owed her, NJ.com reported Friday afternoon.

The report quotes a source with knowledge of what happened as saying the dancer left a private room she and Agholor had entered in a Philadelphia strip club before the agreed upon time and that she did not inform management of the alleged assault. According to the same source, multiple dancers at the club have told management that Agholor did nothing wrong.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross confirmed Friday afternoon that police were investigating a claim that Agholor had assaulted a dancer at Cheerleaders Gentleman’s Club on Thursday. Agholor has not been charged with a crime, and a police spokesman told NJ.com that the investigation is ongoing.

The Eagles released a statement on Friday that said: “We are aware of the police investigation involving Nelson Agholor. The organization has been in contact with Nelson and with the proper authorities in Philadelphia. Because of the legal nature of this matter, we will have no further comment.”

Initial reports said at least two other Eagles players were with Agholor at the club. The NJ.com report said Agholor had agreed to pay the woman $1,400 for an hour in the private room, but Agholor paid her $800 because she left before the agreed upon time.

Agholor, 23, was a first-round pick in 2015. The NJ.com report said Agholor left Philadelphia Friday and has returned home to Florida.

Are you kidding me? $1,400? These pro athletes make WAY too much money if they can afford to throw it away like that.

  2. He could have just paid for a classy “escort” for an hour and got whatever he wanted.

the owner makes more. the players deserve every penny they get.

  5. The better question is, why are you in a strip club on a weekday in the middle of the afternoon?

Should have just went to hooters with your boys.

  6. $1400? It would have been cheaper to just order up a call girl. Actually what am I saying? It would have been cheaper just to pick up a groupie for free.

  7. Also, if you are a professional athlete in a big city, you shouldn’t have to pay money for the company of a young woman.

Are you kidding me? You don’t think owners etc are throwing just as much if not more money around at women?

  9. Which is why I said on the original story of this don’t put stuff like this out there until it’s already been investigated and you’ve come to a conlusion on whether to charge or not. Now, this guy has already been put out there and the woman has also been put out there in a certain light to slant opinions one way or the other for most people depending on what way they look at this. Is it that hard to keep it under wraps until you investigate first?

  10. Something tells me there wasn’t just dancing going in that room, Agholor was gettin some good home cookin’… like actual cooking.
Perhaps she made him a quesadilla… that would explain the $1400, they can be tricky.

  11. Now SHE is stuck. She just admitted to being a prostitute and he has to admit to being a ‘John’. So now everyone can be (probably won’t be) arrested. Not to mention the owner(s) of the joint have to now deal with future investigations etc.

Let us not forget the IRS. They read the newspaper too. Trust me, someone there wants their two dollars. So now the police and IRS have a new place to spend investigating. I bet the owner is a really happy camper.

It is called a ‘can of worms’ and home-girl just lost her day job. You can’t be happy with 1/2 of $800 or whatever your percentage is? Now you get nothing.

Greed makes people stop thinking logically. So does sex. So we have a whole lot of stupid going on here.

Anyone that pays for something most of the rest of us get for free needs to reassess how they go about their business

Agholor should have listened to some Chris Rock, “Repeat after me, there’s no…”

OTA had just broken up and they stopped before heading out of town.

  14. if you resort to screwing a hooker at least understand some of that money you spend is so they will shut up and go away

  15. Two different stories. I’m going to need to see the video, with timestamps, and judge for myself before concluding who is in the wrong here.

Ok, so I’m probably not going to bother with conclusions…

Nothing but a Shakedown….incredibly frustrating for all the women who really have been sexually assaulted.

    ——-

True but incredibly more frustrating for those men that are innocently convicted just because the woman is upset. The real victim appears to be the man in this case and in cases similar.

  17. as my brother in law, an former Dolphins player from long ago told me a while back, coach Shula stated over and over….
“nothing good happens after midnight”, so true coach,
    so true!

  18. What I want to know is why are you saying assault???
Theft or Robbery maybe but you should be a little more fair with the titles you use.

  19. how’s that oldie go ……” if you wanna be happy for the rest of your life , get an ugly girl to be your wife. so from my personal point of view , get an ugly girl to marry you.”

  20. No way she left early on her own accord. Strippers get paid to stay as long as possible. He got too grabby and that’s why she left. Being grabby like that = assault. Say goodbye to your 1st 4 games nelSON

I will never understand why these guys resort to using professionals.
    ———————
I never have and know I never will, but I can kind of see it for these dudes. I mean, honestly, which is better if you are young, rich pro athlete? A pro or a girl at a club who wants to be the next WAG? Personally, I would advocate abstinence and looking in better places for women who are actually datable, but that is just me.

  22. Bernie Sanders’ plan for free college and health care for everyone could be s reality if he would just legalize and tax prostitution. Billions Bernie. Billions.

  23. What’s the price of not having your mom read alllllll about your escapades at the strip club? Seems like $600 would be money well-spent if you’re on year two of your first-round rookie contract. Surely this will be thrown out as soon as lawyers get involved, but ‘character issues’ could derail that free agency payday.

You know who doesn’t get accused of rape? Dudes who stay away from women who earn a living through sex.
    —–

    Partially true.

Don’t forget the cases where a one night bootie call is offended at now being ignored, etc.

Face it, all any woman has to do is scream rape against a player or man in general and his life (whether guilty or not) as he knows it is over.

  25. How disgustingly suggestive that PFT would accompany the article with a picture of Nelson with his helmet in view, looking green, grimacing, gripping his ball – and making a run for it in his long-johns and without his wallet! Still wearing his white gloves though – as a gentleman should.

  26. Funny thing is – if you go on the Eagles Message Board, alot of the geniuses there believe that strippers are no different than any other professional. They don’t think a stripper’s credibility should be compromised because of her profession. Very broad minded people in Philly. Who woulda thought??

    Speaking from experience??

  28. Yup. Never had one leave early on me. It’s always the other way around. I’m trying to get out of there before they soak me for another song.

  30. Like they always say, nothing good happens after ….3pm in the afternoon?

  31. Maybe Nelson should focus on running pass patterns and catching footballs instead of running around strip joints and catching who knows what.

  32. 1. Many of these football players resort to professionals because with the amount of time they spend training in their sports they have very little of the social skills required to attract women that are interested in more than money. If you’re going to only attract ones that want money, you might as well have the contract up front.

    2. A woman working as a dancer does not automatically lose credibility. Just because a woman works in a tea house, even if she has “I love tea,” tattooed on her neck, does not mean that she cannot turn down a cup of tea. Even if she heats up the kettle and drops in the bag herself, she’s not obligated to take tea.

If you honestly think you get it for “FREE”, you are crazy! If it’s your wife, you pay a $1200-$1500 mortgage, plus a $300-500 car payment!

    It’s NEVER free!
