On Friday, the Cowboys trimmed their roster to 88 players by waiving a pair of cornerbacks.
The roster returned to 90 players on Monday with the arrival of two other players who will be vying for jobs in the team’s secondary. The team announced that they have signed Isaiah Frey and Dax Swanson.
Frey is the more experienced of the duo. He entered the league as a sixth-round pick of the Bears in 2012 and spent a year on the practice squad before making his regular season debut. He played 16 games for the Bears in 2013, split the 2014 season between Chicago and Tampa and landed on the Steelers practice squad last year after failing to make the Buccaneers out of camp. Frey has 74 tackles and two forced fumbles in 27 career games.
Swanson has bounced around with six teams since entering the league in 2013, but has yet to see any regular season action.
