Dolphins cut bait on quarterback Logan Thomas

It didn’t take long for the Cardinals to give up on the Logan Thomas project, and the Dolphins didn’t give him long either.

The Dolphins announced they had waived Thomas and defensive tackle Charles Tuaau.

Despite being a fourth-round pick, the Cardinals cut the former Virginia Tech quarterback after just one season. The Dolphins picked him up on their practice squad last year, promoting him to the 53-man roster late in the season.

But for whatever reason, they decided they had three better options behind starter Ryan Tannehill.

The Dolphins now have veteran backup Matt Moore, seventh-round pick Brandon Doughty and journeyman Zac Dysert in reserve.
