On Tuesday, it became clear that Bills running back Karlos Williams: (1) gained weight in the offseason; and (2) did so because he was eating excessive food with his pregnant fiancée. On Wednesday, the jokes from teammates began on Twitter.
In response to Williams saying “love it” regarding a photo of his college jersey, Bills linebacker Preston Brown said: “*food.”
Williams fired back at Brown by saying,”I’m still faster than you. What do you not understand.” (Note the absence of a denial of his love of food.)
Bills running back James Wilder chimed in with some laughing/crying emojis, prompting Williams to say to Wilder, “I’m also faster than you which is a shame.”
Brown then invited Williams to “meet me at LA Fitness fat man.”
On the surface, it was teammates having some fun. But it’s clear that Williams has gotten the message that, between minicamp and training camp, he’s got work to do. Otherwise, training camp will feature even more Twitter debates regarding his alleged or actual love of food.
