One of the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando got a hospital visit from an old high school teammate: Tim Tebow.

Rodney Sumter, a bartender at Pulse, was shot three times. Sumter played football with Tebow at Ponte Vedra Beach Nease High School, and he posted on Instagram this week that Tebow left a vacation to see him in the hospital.

“My high school quarterback left the Bahamas to come and see me. Tebow has always been an awesome person,” Sumter wrote.

Tebow should be commended for visiting the Orlando Regional Medical Center, where many of the shooting victims remain. Also worthy of praise is Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston, who also visited the hospital.

Sumter briefly played college football at Jacksonville University, the Orlando Sentinel reports. Sumter posted on Instagram that Winston told him the two could get together and Sumter could run routes while Winston throws to him, once Sumter’s injuries have healed.
