Retired wide receiver Chad Johnson is going the Twitter route to ask longtime friend Hue Jackson if he can help Jackson’s new team, the Browns.

Again.

A few months after tweeting the Browns official account that he’d like to help work with the team’s wide receivers, Johnson took to Twitter again Monday and said he was planning to ask Jackson if he could be a “route running specialist” or even serve in some other role with the team’s wide receivers.

What’s interesting about Jackson’s latest request is that Browns 2016 first-round pick Corey Coleman, the first of four wide receivers the Browns drafted last spring, responded to Johnson’s tweet, telling Johnson to “come on” to training camp.

Johnson probably genuinely would like to help. Jackson probably would like to navigate at least one training camp with the rebuilding Browns before adding a personality like Johnson to the mix.

Johnson and Jackson have a longstanding relationship, and Jackson once called Johnson his “son.”
