Bills’ Jonathan Williams arrested for DWI

Bills running back Jonathan Williams was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated early this morning in Arkansas.

According to Little Rock television station KATV, Williams was taken into custody and booked around 3:20 a.m. by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Williams played his college football at Arkansas and was drafted by the Bills in the fifth round this year.

The 5-foot-11, 220-pound Williams had a very good junior season in 2014, carrying 211 times for 1,190 yards and 12 touchdowns. In the summer of 2015 he suffered a foot injury and missed his entire senior season.

Williams is joining a crowded backfield in Buffalo, with LeSean McCoy as the incumbent starter and youngsters Karlos Williams and Mike Gillislee sure to get plenty of time. This arrest won’t do Williams any favors in his quest to earn playing time with the Bills.

Although Karlos Williams “Dad Bod” and keeping the miles down on Shady will probably help get the kid a good long look. It’s the NFL, a first offense DWI with no attendant accident or injury is barely a speed bump.

Pats had this guy on their list. Glad they passed based on the character concerns.
    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That’s horse manure (censor doesn’t approve the other word). I guess Aaron Hernandez’ character concerns were over looked.

  3. hmmmm Patriots 4-2 in SBs, Toronto Jills 0-4 in SBs, hahahahahahaha

Patriots are 4-3 in SBs. You forgot about Super Bowl XX against the Bears.

  5. “hmmmm Patriots 4-2 in SBs, Toronto Jills 0-4 in SBs, hahahahahahaha”

Geeze stop embarrassing us other Pats fans will you? At least know the history of the team you claim to follow.

That would be Pats 4-4 in SBs. 1985 and 1996 may be before your time but the Pats played and lost to the Bears and Packers in those 2.

And I forgot about the one against the Packers. Patriots are 4-4 in SBs.

  7. Tired of hearing about DWI and DUI from players NFL needs a mandatory 1 year suspension for these fools. Not only do they risk their own lives but the lives of others.

  8. Just another dumb idiot, who doesn’t get it.
Call a taxi stupid, what happens if you kill someone?????

  9. Umm,the Pats didn’t take Hernandez in Rd 1 or 2. They had multiple picks in Rds 1, 2 and 3 so they took a flier on Hernandez knowing of some issues.

That’s a far, far cry from an abysmal Bills franchise needing to hit on draft picks, build a winner and to generate momentum for a new stadium they desperately need.

NE has always taken calculated risks, mainly because they’re so well run.

Hint: NE won SB 49 by taking on an 8.5 mil cap hit for Hernandez.

Case closed. kidlings and nighty night.

  10. “Nothing good happens after 2 am.”

Nonsense, plenty of good happens after 2 am. You just have to not be stupid enough to drink heavily and get behind the wheel of a vehicle, and pay attention to the world around you.

  11. Brady’s first Superbowl was a gift from the worst call in NFL history, the Tuck Rule.

Now you can cross 1 of those Super Bowls off.

Pats should have never been there.

3 game suspension, appealed down to 2?

  15. Every time a player get a DUI a bunch of people post he should have gotten a ride or called a cab etc.

    That’s great advice!

Except, how many people make smart choices when hammered. Usually they think they can conquer the world.

  16. Oh come on. Weve all driven around ark at 3:15am and got stopped. I told the cops i was a Clinton cousin looking for bills house and they gave me directions. I shared the rest of my bottle with them of course.

  17. To be charged with DWI he must have blown at least .08 for his size and weight he would have to drink at least 4 drinks in a couple of hours….this could happen to anyone in that bar that night…..unless he blew a much higher number this could happen to anyone who goes out for a couple of beers and get pulled over…..he has to be smarter than that, too much to lose, the chances of him getting pulled over are high at 3 am and he should know this….

LOL, you have absolutely zero knowledge of why the Pats didn’t draft Williams. You’re just making this up to make your team seem more holier than thou.

    Facepalm

Driving around drunk, 3:30am, Backwater Arkansas…………really?
    ===================

Odds are good the cop that popped him would have blown higher, lol. Realistically, of course DWI is stupid and we should all be thankful no one was injured as a result of his bad judgement but everyone was young and dumb once too. Someone above calling for a year long suspension is ridiculous, he won’t even lose his license that long.

Take away the Raiders’ 76 season’s SB. The worst reffed playoff game in history vrs the Pats.

  21. Umm, the PAts worked out Williams.

I am glad they didn’t take him. A choice like the one he just made is for morons.

Rex Ryan also drafted a guy in Rd 1 with serious health concerns.

    The Rex Ryan arrogance continues.

  22. People need to chill with ragging on him for being arrested for DWI.

I was arrested for a DWI with a BAC of .04. DWI just means the officer “thinks you appear intoxicated”. I received mine because I exited the vehicle using 2 hands (I have 4 herniated discs in my back, I always do this).

So just because someone was arrested, it doesn’t mean they were guilty of anything.

  23. So are we in agreement that the Pats have lost as many Super Bowls as the Bills have?

  24. Not the smartest move for someone who is going to be fighting for a roster spot. Wouldn’t this cause the Bills to wonder if this is going to be an ongoing problem after he signs a contract? My guess is if the Bills have to choose whether to cut this guy or someone else, it will be him.

  25. I’m not a bills fan by any means. I’m just endearing if there are any jobs in the Boston area, considering pats fans have time to comment on every article and make it about them.
