The Raiders have signed cornerback David Amerson to a four-year contract extension, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.

The report said Amerson’s deal is worth as much as $38 million and includes almost $18 million in guarantees.

A second-round pick of the Redskins in 2013, Amerson was cut by the Redskins two games into the 2015 season and earned a significant raise after being claimed via waivers the Raiders. Before the extension, he was due to make $880,000 in 2016.

Amerson started 12 of the 14 games he played for the Raiders last season and recorded four interceptions, returning one for a touchdown. He has six interceptions and two forced fumbles in his 47-game career.
