Eagles don’t expect to release Nigel Bradham after arrest

Eagles linebacker Nigel Bradham was arrested in Miami on Miami for allegedly punching a hotel employee in the face during a dispute over the speed of the service the employee was providing to Bradham’s group and coach Doug Pederson faced questions about potential impact on his spot with the team on Wednesday.

Pederson said, via Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, that he doesn’t foresee the Eagles releasing Bradham as a result of the arrest. Bradham is expected to be part of the team’s starting defense as he reunites with defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, who coached Bradham when both men were in Buffalo in 2014.

Pederson also said that he had a “great conversation” with Bradham, but said that he otherwise wouldn’t discuss what remains an ongoing legal process.

McLane reports that sources told him Bradham hit the worker, who was a beach attendant at a hotel, three times after the worker swung at Bradham and hit Bradham’s girlfriend when the swing went awry.

  1. McLane reports that sources told him Bradham hit the worker, who was a beach attendant at a hotel, three times after the worker swung at Bradham and hit Bradham’s girlfriend when the swing went awry.

If that is correct, why was Bradham arrested and not the worker?

If anything, if the man watched his girlfriend get punched in the face and did nothing, they should of cut him. Anyone with that little heart could not possibly succeed on a football field

  2. self-defense.

Philly may have notorious fans (who do not beat, drug or murder opposing fans unlike a number of other fan bases) but they are anything but a scumbag organization.

  3. Jerruh Jones is disappointed, now he may have to give up assets in a trade to acquire his new starting LB and team leader.

  4. Some waiter punches my girlfriend and he’s going to get a beating, too. I expect all charges here to be dropped and the hotel/restaurant to issue an apology if Bradham’s story is true.

  5. I’ve been to a lot of hotels. Never has a hotel employee thrown a punch at me. Just saying.

  6. Sounds like Bradham told the eagles what they wanted to hear. If the Hotel employee did actually strike Bradham’s GF, he would’ve been arrested alongside Bradham. Thats how that works. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bradham and his GF were striking the hotel employee together and the employee struck back striking the GF in the face or that the employee did a nothing at all but get beat.

  7. Hopefully, Badham will be finished with the commissioner’s suspension and come in fresh when the team is gearing up for the playoffs.

  8. So these 6 individuals were calmly waiting for their beach umbrella when the 1 crazy beach attendant started throwing punches? –Makes sense.

  9. McLane reports that sources told him ………..

The source being Bradham’s PR rep.

  10. This is a high class hotel, I’m sure it’s on tape. I really doubt some cabana boy took a swing at an NFL linebacker with 5 of his drunken friends in tow. BTW, the Eagles don’t plan on releasing him. Neither does the Dept. of Corrections in the state of Florida.

  11. So close, but alas we couldn’t make it through a thread without someone mentioning the Cowboys despite the fact they have nothing to do with this story. And also the use of the never ever seen term “Jerrah” instead of Jerry. Almost, but maybe tomorrow. sigh…
