The Browns didn’t have linebacker Jackson Jeffcoat and offensive lineman Conor Boffeli on the field for their first practices of training camp because of injuries and they won’t be waiting around for them to recover.

The Browns announced Monday that they have waived both players. Boffeli ended last year on the team’s practice squad, but knee and ankle issues kept him off the field this summer.

Jeffcoat was claimed off waivers from the Redskins in April, but hurt his hamstring doing the team’s conditioning test. The 2013 Big 12 defensive player of the year and Ted Hendricks Award winner at Texas went undrafted in 2014 and played nine games for Washington across the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

Cleveland signed linebacker Jason Neill and offensive lineman Corey Tucker to replace them on the roster. Neill spent part of May with the Cowboys while Tucker was with the Packers for a spell before getting dropped on June 1.
