Colts rookie center Ryan Kelly missed Monday’s practice due to a shoulder strain.

Colts Coach Chuck Pagano said Kelly suffered the injury on Sunday and will be listed as day-to-day as the Colts proceed through their training camp week. Jonotthan Harris got the center reps with the No. 1 offense Monday. Seventh-round rookie Austin Blythe is also in line for more action with Kelly sidelined.

The Colts drafted Kelly at No. 18 overall in April and see him as both their present and future at center.

Pagano said Monday he planned to play all of his players in Sunday’s Hall of Fame Game, but it could be a few days before we know if Kelly will be healthy enough to participate.

  1. Damn – poor Colts. It really sux when you fix games and purposefuly lose to get better draft picks and then they get injured (like “Suck for Luck” did last year)

But I guess fixing games is OK by Roger Goodell’s “integrity of the game”standard because there was never even an investigation into the “Suck for Luck” season

  2. That’s unfortunate. I was hoping to see how Packers rookie 1st round pick, NT Kenny Clark, would fare against Kelly on Sunday night. Hopefully, Kelly will be recovered by then.

    And everyone has herpes.

  5. This is a blessing in disguise. We know that Ryan Kelly is the center for the next decade, and possible HOFer. But Austin Blythe was a 7th round steal, and could easily be a starter in the league. This minor injury will allow Blythe to get some extra work in.
