Tomlin won’t talk about Green’s reported headaches

Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin hasn’t said much about the situation involving tight end Ladarius Green, and after Friday night’s preseason game Tomlin again declined to comment on recent reports that recurring headaches have kept Green out.

Green hasn’t practiced with his new team in the spring or the summer. He signed a four-year, $20 million deal with the Steelers in March.

He’s on the active/physically unable to perform list, and when he was asked specifically about it Friday Tomlin said offseason ankle surgery is the reason Green remains on the PUP list.

Tomlin hasn’t said much when previously asked about Green, and maybe he doesn’t know whether Green will be cleared to return. The Steelers retain the option to keep Green on PUP if there’s no resolution on the matter by the time the regular season begins.

  1. Tomlin can’t remember when he steps on the field during a kickoff return, why would he remember anything about a player?

  2. No need to take Abraham Lincoln’s advice and remain silent Trip, we already know you’re a fool.

  3. Who’s Green’s agent? I think G.M.’s might shy away from players who are being represented by this guy.

  4. If the team’s unsure about Green’s health or implications for whether and when he’ll play, then what’s the guy supposed to comment on?

For some reason the Steelers have never placed a premium on the TE position. , preferring to focus on their WRs. Conversely, the Patriots are heavily invested in both Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett.

  6. Will Tomlin talk about his own headaches? Bryant, Bell, Green, Coates, Golson.
