The Raiders apparently will be starting the season without one of their starting defensive linemen.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Edwards currently is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after suffering a strained hip on Friday night against the Cardinals.

Edwards, a second-round pick in 2015, appeared in 14 games with 10 starts as a rookie. He left the game in Arizona during the first half.

Based on the unofficial preseason depth chart, Denico Autry is the next man up.

  1. Again, a reason why I hate meaningless preseason games. They don’t do much except causing injuries to starters which result in missing the games which actually count in the regular season.

  2. Depth is honestly what makes or breaks a team. The starters could be great and all but all teams run into injuries and need to plug people in and not miss a beat.

Like the Jaguars, people are excited about them. But if they lose one or two of their new acquisitions, they might not be able to replace them

  3. I love how people are calling him injury prone. He played 13 games last year. He could be potentially out only 1 game with 4-6 week recovery time frame.

Men, if the raiders cant break .500 this year, should Reggie be shown the door?

I’ll have to show you the door now.. lol
Depends on if we have major injuries or not… Lose Mack and we are screwed!

If they are 8-8 or 7-9, it will depend on which games they win. Sweep the division but finish .500 or below, Reg probably keeps his job.
Go 8-8 or 7-9 and get swept in the division…or post double digits in the loss column, he will have to go. (But I don’t think this will happen.)
