Tyler Eifert trying to jog for first time since surgery

Bengals Pro Bowl tight end Tyler Eifert has sworn off the Pro Bowl forever after suffering an ankle injury in January’s game that still hasn’t healed. And in a sign of just how serious that injury was, Eifert is just jogging for the first time today.

Geoff Hobson of the Bengals’ website reports that Eifert is trying to jog for the first time since surgery. Eifert said he has previously been running on a treadmill in the pool and feels good.

Eifert has been lifting weights and says he has had no setbacks, but if he’s just jogging for the first time today, it seems unlikely that he’d be ready for the season opener in less than three weeks.

Last year Eifert played 13 games and had 52 catches for 615 yards and 13 touchdowns. The Bengals will miss him, particularly in the red zone, for as long as he’s out.

  1. Hall of fame game will be next on players X list. Except they don’t have a choice for that one.

I swore off the Pro Bowl way before Tyler Eifert was born.

Hope he’s back for week 2, so Mitchell or Shazier can knock him out.

***Right and I’m sure that will happen but will somehow be a legal hit. The Squealers never do anything wrong!

  4. That is accurate. Also the Bungles never do anything right….hence the name Bungles. 25 Years! Happy Anniversary. Haha!
