Trevor Siemian practicing, but not throwing, on Tuesday

When Broncos coach Gary Kubiak announced on Monday that Trevor Siemian will get the start in the Broncos third preseason game, he also said that it wasn’t clear whether Siemian would be a full participant in Tuesday’s practice.

Siemian banged his shoulder while trying to make a tackle after an interception against the 49ers last weekend, leaving him with some soreness that called his Tuesday status into question. That questioned was answered on Tuesday.

According to multiple reports from the Broncos facility, Siemian ran the offense during running drills before giving way to Mark Sanchez and Paxton Lynch when it came time to put the ball in the air. The fact that Siemian was at practice in any capacity and not getting treatment from the medical staff would seem to suggest a relatively low concern level about his ability to go on Saturday.

Andrew Mason of the team’s website reports that Lynch is getting the “lion’s share” of work with Siemian out of action. Kubiak said both Lynch and Sanchez are slated to get the same amount of playing time as Siemian against the Rams this week, but didn’t say which one would replace Siemian.

  1. He “banged” his shoulder while trying to make a football play. Then the coaches should be faulted for not instructing him to not attempt any such plays as blocking or tackling. Wrap them in bubble wrap.

  2. Joe Montana was the last player selected in the third round. Tom Brady went in the 6th round. So it is possible that a 7th round pick can play this game. It’s possible that all the scouts missed on Siemian, the way they did on Montana and Brady. Oh, and Kurt Warner didn’t even get drafted. Don’t be shocked if Siemian leads Denver to a super bowl. Do yourself a favor. Go get some tape on Siemian at Northwestern. He should have been a high first round pick.

  3. If I’m Sanchez I’m demanding to be released and go elsewhere, let Elway go with two in proven teams. Teams that could use Sanchez as QB2… NY Giants, Seattle, Tennessee, Indy

    A) If this guy demands to be let go because he can’t beat a kid named Trevor, nobody will want him.

    B) Who demands to be released as backup qb to the Super Bowl champs so they can be a backup qb somewhere else? Weird.

  6. I’m getting some down votes, lemme fix my previous comment:

    Hey silvernblackpride,

Remember what it feels like TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS?? Probably not, LOL.

    signed, NFL fans.

Son, in the current millennium the Denver Broncos have won a single SB…..same as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Let’s not get too excited. How about we wait and see if they can win one or two more?

  8. I kinda feel bad for Sanchez but kubiak must not be high on em. Kubiak obviously doesn’t believe in Sanchez much but at the same time he kubiak should not be judging mark solely on the season and camp, mark has extensive nfl tape

  9. pats fans can never win in mile high so bow down when your chump cheaters come to our house, and who are the raiders anyway? they’re still a team or is it a free win?

Siemian in no way played like a 1st round pick let alone a late round pick at Northwestern, so I don’t know what the hell type of tape you’re watching. In 4 years he threw for 5,931, 27 touchdowns, 24 interceptions, and while not completing 60% of his passes in his career. So tell me how is that deserving of a high 1st round pick?

  11. Request to the mods: can you add “butt fumble” to the censor list?

I am SO SICK of hearing that. It’s like a tic. Someone says Mark Sanchez, here it comes…. wait for it…. BUTT FUMBLE!

Broncos are the most cheating organization in NFL history. A quick google search will verify that

Yeah it’ll lead you to a website designed by pats fans to try to diminish their cheating. But just go ahead and believe anything you read on the Internet. Here I’ll say it in your native tongue: BAAAA BAAAA

  13. What a player did in college is totally irrelevant. It isn’t a level playing field at all. How many studs did Siemian play with at Northwestern? Not many.

How many of those games was Northwestern winning more matchup a than they were losing? Denver proved last year this sport is a total team game.

How many good players is he playing with now? A whole roster full of them.

You misread Charlie charger’s post. He’s talking about looking at actual game tape. Your reply referred to stats. Those are two completely different things. Have you actually seen the tape? I thought Siemian looked great on tape. I could care less about stats. Perhaps you’re smarter than John Elway.
