Jahri Evans may see himself as one of the top guards in the NFL, but at the moment he’s out of work.
Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports that the Seahawks are cutting Evans, whom they gave an $80,000 signing bonus last month.
The move comes as a surprise, as Evans was expected to become a starter on the line in Seattle.
Prior to signing with the Seahawks last month, Evans had spent his entire NFL career in New Orleans. He started 11 games for the Saints last year but was cut in a salary cap move this offseason. Now he’ll look for some other team that thinks he still has something left.
