Mike McCarthy says Jordy Nelson is 100 percent for Week One

AP

Last year, Packers receiver Jordy Nelson missed the entire season after a preseason knee injury. This year, the Packers are optimistic that Nelson can be healthy for the entire season.

He’s at least healthy for Week One, as coach Mike McCarthy says there will be no limitations on him in the opener against the Jaguars. McCarthy described Nelson as “full go” at practice.

“We expect him to line up and be full bore in Jacksonville,” McCarthy said.

Although Nelson did not play at all in the preseason, that was mostly a precaution. Nelson has indicated that he feels like he’s all the way back, and we’ll all get to see him back at it when the Packers face the Jaguars on Sunday.

  1. Gotta love the trolls.

He 4sacroc – Ever hear of the other 4 starters on GBs OL? They’re pretty good too.

Losing Sitton sucks, but Green Bay will be fine on offense. I’m still wholeheartedly expecting a 500 plus point year.

  2. This is good news. Now Jordy can hobble his way down the field at 100%.

  3. Jordy just wishes he could cut and run. Out of Green Bay. Like Sitton did.

Linsley out six weeks to start season. RT Bulaga is made of glass. He’ll be out soon enough with another injury. Bakhtiari was a turnstile last year at LT. You dump a Pro Bowl guard at trade deadline, get zero in return and try to sell Taylor or Barclay as an upgrade. You’re flat-out high, pal.

  5. Hoping the best for Jordy. He’s a downright good guy. Great player, and you could tell he wasn’t on the field last year. Rodgers really missed him. Jordy will have his hands full with our DB’s this year. Especially with our front 7 against the GB pourous O-line. I sure hope it doesn’t end Rodgers career. Although, he is on the decline, and TT is starting to scramble to find a successor.

  6. Wow. The Packers are really soaring in these preseason power rankings. It speaks to the league wide level of respect that everyone has for a perennial contender, and the most successful franchise in the history of the NFL.

  7. Yeah sure, and he was ahead of schedule all Summer, then came back and injured his “good” knee. That’s not a sign of rushing back too soon and overcompensating for the bad knee or anything like that. Nothing to see here.

You packer fans say this every year. The packers have 35 plus straight preseason Super Bowls sitting in your trophy case. I’m glad you won yet another preseason Super Bowl. Now, it’s time for reality.

The Packers have 13 very real world championships (incl. 4 Super Bowls) in their trophy case. They even named the Super Bowl trophy after a Packer coach who happened to be the greatest coach in NFL history.

The Viking trophy case is empty.

  10. Good deal, stay healthy Jordy, football’s better with you on the field.

And Aaron Rodgers is prepping to be a human piñata behind an overrated o-line.

  13. Good to see that Jordy is fully recovered. I just hope McCarthy is smart enough to ease him back into the game plan and allow him to get back into football shape before asking too much of him.

  14. He has had at most 2 weeks of full practice. I think it’s actually less than 2 weeks because he wasn’t doing everything the one week. Jordy even mentioned being concerned about his game conditioning since not playing for so long.

  15. GB has seven WRs are its roster because they were too good to let go. MN likes our sloppy seconds in Greg Jennings and Charles Johnson. Now Chicago jumping on the bandwagon with Sitton.

Can’t wait to see clay Matthews break in sam Bradford to the new MN turf in week 2.

Typical packer fan: ” 13 superbowls dating back to the Stone Age”
” you have no right to talk about your team”

Packers are once again predicting a super bowl this year. If the packers don’t win it, your season sucks by your own definition.

Sucks to be a packer fan.

How can they be “world championships” when Canada also plays football? Did the Packers play a Canadian team to get that honor?
And those 13 USA Championships is ancient history.
What matters is the here and now and in the here and now, us Packers fans have as much bragging rights as our division rivals.
How can we think we are any better than them when we also lose playoff games?
If we ever win another SB, then we can brag all we want to.
    Until then, keep it real.
