Bruce Miller, who was cut by the 49ers this week after he was arrested and accused of attacking a father and son, has been charged with seven felonies in connection with the incident.
The felonies Miller is charged with are one count of assault with a deadly weapon, not a firearm (weapon alleged is a cane); one count of assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury; one count of inflicting injury on an elder or dependent adult likely to cause great bodily injury; one count of battery with serious bodily injury; two counts of criminal threats; one count of assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury.
Miller allegedly tried to get into a San Francisco hotel room where an elderly couple was staying. Police said that when the couple’s son, staying in the next room, approached Miller to tell him he had the wrong room, Miller attacked him. The father then came out of the room to try to defend his son, and Miller attacked the father as well, according to police.
Last year Miller was also accused of a violent crime, spousal battery, although he later pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor disturbing the peace charge when his fiancée said there was no physical contact. The 49ers stood behind Miller through that incident but cut him loose almost immediately after this arrest.
