Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier has left Monday night’s game with the Redskins due to a knee injury.
The Steelers first announced that Shazier was questionable to return, then later in the fourth quarter announced that he’s out for the game.
A healthy Shazier is a key to the Steelers defense showing improvement in 2016 -- and to the team’s success as a whole.
After breaking up what would have been a touchdown pass in the first quarter, Shazier intercepted Kirk Cousins in the third quarter Monday night.
Shazier missed seven games as a rookie due to injury and missed four last season.
