DeMarcus Ware has ulna fracture

AP

The Broncos won again, but they may have lost their defensive captain, for a while.

Linebacker DeMarcus Ware suffered an ulna fracture during Sunday’s game against the Colts. Coach Gary Kubiak announced the injury after the game.

The timetable for Ware’s return isn’t known. He has become a situational pass rusher, but his leadership has been critical to the team’s defense.

Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis suffered a similar injury in the NFC title game. He quickly had surgery and played in the Super Bowl. There’s been no indication that Ware would take such extreme measures to keep playing.

His contract pays out an extra $1.25 million for eight sacks, $2.5 million for nine, $3 million for 11, and $3.5 million for 13. This incentive package was put in place when he reduced his salary from $10 million to $6.5 million.

Through two games, Ware has 2.0 sacks.

  1. Big loss. But better than having your QB injured like a few teams! Everyone is dealing with injuries to key players, and it’s only WEEK 2!

The Patriots have their QB out and his backup is injured……and they still found a way to win. Meanwhile your team put up 3 points against the Rams!

Face it man, you have much bigger issues than Wilson’s ankle.

  3. the orange cruch2.0. no fly zone & company, accompanying Trevor they don’t know me YET MF,were out to dethrone the 72dolfins,it’ll take to ……week 10 for the chumps to realize this, but we won’t trip…..next stop Dalton, BUT I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR, MR PUBLIX,CRAB LEG’S FOR a year and a half, we’re going to eat well Winston, 2weeks…….BRONCOS COUNTRY UNDEFEATED

  4. Their defense took a step back last year when Ware was out back injury as he was the leader of that defense. We will see if the same happens this year.

  5. i still hear the echoes of those who laughed at Elway for signing Ware,,,washed up….worn out should hang it up they all said….wrong

so says one of the biggest morons on PFT.

Doesn’t your team have QB issues to be concerned about? Last time I checked, the QB position is FAR more significant than the position of an aging OLB.

Is there some kind of contest to see who can make the most incoherent twaddle on PFT? That’s not doing Denver’s reputation any good, you know, writing as you must be, from an asylum.

So, Patsfan, was that step back before or after they beat the Pats twice and then won the Super Bowl?

That’s a jet fan pretending to be a Pats fan. Seriously. No joke. Patsfan4lifesbchamps is a spineless, coward of a troll.
