The Patriots have an issue at quarterback.

But they have enough other parts to have kept it from being a disaster for another day.

Thanks to the running of LeGarrette Blount, the Patriots were able to hang on for a 31-24 win over the Dolphins.

They led 24-3 at halftime, but the Dolphins took advantage of the lack of Jimmy Garoppolo to claw back into the game. Garoppolo left in the second quarter with a right shoulder injury, and didn’t return. That left rookie Jacoby Brissett to finish up as the only healthy quarterback on the roster, and he only threw nine passes (completing six).

The Dolphins got to within a touchdown in the fourth quarter, but the Patriots were able to grind out a late drive to eat enough clock. Stephen Gostkowski missed a 39-yard field goal which could have clinched it, but the Dolphins’ last drive ended when Duron Harmon picked off Ryan Tannehill in the end zone.

Blount finished with 29 carries for 123 yards and a touchdown.

For Miami, it was a day of mistakes (four turnovers) undoing what was a reasonable chance to win. But the Dolphins are still 0-2 after last week’s loss at Seattle.
