The Seahawks had a few offensive players suffer injuries in Sunday’s loss to the Rams, including wide receiver Doug Baldwin.

Baldwin played the entire game, but hurt his knee in the first half and told reporters after the game that he would have an MRI to see if there was any serious damage. Baldwin appears to have avoided that outcome.

Baldwin texted Josina Anderson to say “I’m good” after having the test on his knee. Coach Pete Carroll said, via Curtis Crabtree of PFT and 950 KJR, Baldwin “seems to feel OK” during his media session on Monday.

The Seahawks also saw wide receiver Tyler Lockett and running back Thomas Rawls go down with injuries on Sunday, although Lockett joined Baldwin in playing through the final whistle. First-round pick Germain Ifedi missed his second straight game with an ankle injury and Carroll said the guard is close to getting back on the field.

The Seahawks file their first practice report ahead of their game with the 49ers on Wednesday, which will provide an update about how all four players are progressing.

  1. It is the “not-so-hidden” cost of an unwillingness to invest in the offensive line. Many of the skill players on offense are hurt because of an offensive line that hardly even slows down opposing defensive players.

Russell Wilson’s ankle, Thomas Rawls’ shin, Tyler Lockett and Doug Baldwin beaten up, defensive players taking pot shots at Jimmy Graham’s recovering knee.

I know coaches and GMs and teams have to have a philosophy and they can’t pay everyone. Not paying the offensive line, however, has a bigger ripple effect than other choices.

  2. That was the worst game ever. Russ had no chance, and the departure of okung is killing this offense

  3. When the O-Line can’t block and Wilson has to throw the ball too soon, he makes throws that expose his receivers, leaving them open to some nasty hits. Good QBs with time throw the ball so his receivers don’t get hurt.

  4. The game is won or lost at the line of scrimmage. With an O line like Seattle has, fans can save their money on playoff tickets, because there won’t be any being played in Putrid Sound stadium this coming winter. the new betting line in Vegas is how many games Midget Wilson will play this year before having a season ending injury.

  5. theashleyguy — Did you even see Baldwin and Lockett get hurt? Had nothing to do with, as you say, RW having to get rid of the ball and exposing his WRs.. Baldwin got rolled up on while run blocking 10+ yds downfield when CMike got tackled after a big gain into him. Lockett tweaked his knee while jumping/landing when attempting to haul in a deep ball.
