Running back Arian Foster’s soft tissue injuries were an issue for the Texans in his final years with Houston and he’s now dealing with one as a member of the Dolphins.

Foster left Sunday’s loss to the Patriots after 10 plays with a groin injury and a Monday MRI is expected to provide a better idea of how it will impact him in the near future. Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that the team is concerned that the injury will keep Foster out for at least one week.

That would likely mean a choice between Jay Ajayi and rookie Kenyan Drake as the lead running back for the home opener against the Browns. Ajayi, who was left home for the opener in Seattle, lost a fumble in Sunday’s loss.

“Jay, that was a crticial turnover there,” coach Adam Gase said. “I mean, we just can’t have that. We have to do a better job of ball security, but, for the most part, protection was good.”

Ajayi ran five times for 14 yards overall while Drake carried twice for 12 yards and scored a seven-yard touchdown.
