Cowboys placing Collins on IR

Cowboys offensive lineman La’el Collins will be placed on injured reserve with a toe injury, PFT has confirmed.

Collins has a torn ligament in his toe. The Cowboys will place him on injured reserve knowing they could possibly bring him back in 8-10 weeks if he heals properly.

Teams can activate one player per season from the injured-reserve list.

Collins, who went undrafted in 2015 because he was linked to a murder investigation involving an ex-girlfriend, started 11 games last season at left guard and has started all three this season.

  1. I don’t know whether injuries are up or average in the NFL, but it sure does seem like they’ve been ruining a lot over the last few years, making things less fun to watch.

  2. Wow, I wouldnt have guessed that was coming, based of that awkward play. Thats kind of crazy, a freak accident.

  3. good thing Cowboys kept this designation available in case of this type of injury–Leary should be good until La’el comes back, certainly looked good coming into the game without much work the last couple of weeks.

  4. Wow Florio never stops taking jabs at the Cowboys.
Is really necessary to bring up a incident in the young man’s past that he was completely cleared of?
    Florio, move on Geezus!!!

  5. Good for him, saving his strength for his real job next year.

His 1st 2 years of rookie pay were going to have to come from somewhere, now he can go and get serious with a contender.

  6. He has been struggling to settle in properly this season. He has had more ups then downs don’t get me wrong but with Leary, this offensive line won’t skip a beat. So glad we didn’t trade Leary. We dodged a bullet. Collins will heal and be well rested for the play-offs.
