Glenn Gronkowski gets practice squad gig with Patriots

Baby Gronk is officially a Patriot. Sort of.

Glenn Gronkowski, the youngest brother of Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, joined the team’s practice squad on Saturday, per a source with knowledge of the situation.

Undrafted in April after playing college football at Kansas State, Glenn Gronkowski signed with the Bills. He made it to the 53-man roster at the outset of the season, but he later was waived. The Patriots gave him a workout last month.

His first game as an extended member of the team comes Sunday, when the Bills visit the Patriots.

Rob and Glenn are two of the Brothers Gronk, a free-spirited and fun-loving foursome that seems destined to someday star in a reality show. For now, half of them are part of the same team in America’s ultimate reality show.

  1. Just in time to give inside info on the Bills!

Wish we would have kept him, at least on our PS.

  2. Chip shot–What a coincidence….other teams don’t like losing perennially to the Patriots, and it’s in vogue to accuse them of something as a sore-loser only-option type of thing (see: Colts) so they do.

We’re used to it now, and if you haven’t noticed, it doesn’t work.

How many times have the patriots been caught by other teams? Not the NFL, but other teams. Nice schedule too.

Look everybody! A chippy sighting! After this gem from before miami’s last game we were worried about you:

Playbook espionage? Of a guy that was the Bills? For what, the laughs? Rexy’s playbook is probably scribbled in crayon on the back of a kiddie menu.

Miami, a Browns missed field goal from being 0-4. Going on 17 years without a playoff win. Who has Patriot envy? You do. And I looooooove it.

All teams do this, pay attention, or is it only cheating if the Patriots do it? Besides, Glenn didn’t play for the Bills long enough to learn anything BB doesn’t already know after facing either/both of the Ryan brothers for years.

Gronkowski has no chance of making the Patriots. He was brought in for debriefing only…
    ___________________

So, let me see if I’ve got this right. The Pats signed a guy today that was released by the Bills 3 weeks ago that NE worked out 2 weeks ago to debrief him about a game plan that was installed 2 weeks after he left Buffalo for a game tomorrow that it’s too late for the Pats to adjust their own game plan for even though he could have been signed at any time in the past 20 days? And somehow that makes sense to the trolls and tin foil hat folks…

Reason 3,768 why it’s good to be a Giants fan, the Pats take up no room in our heads.

  8. I love the clowns who are screaming that New England signed Gronk-lite to get the Bills playbook.

Every team in the NFL has done this FOR YEARS, it’s perfectly LEGAL.

But if the Patriots do it, it’s cheating, lol

In the NFL players and even coaches move from team to team. There is a new concept called “free agency”.

The playbooks are not secret thanks to another new concept called “television”. The plays of every team are captured on film and broadcast.

So even if players didn’t give a new team the plays of a prior team the experts on a teams could write their own playbook for every other team by diagraming the plays while watching film.

Television shows made for children sometimes had a plot of a stolen playbook of rival high school teams so it seems that some must believe that is a reality.

Patriots win by being good and hard work not by reading your teams secret book.

Oh chippy you kidder you. You know that other than the Pats playing the SB champion Broncos and the division winning Texans while the fish got the 4th place Chargers & Titans that NE and miami are playing the same schedule. Your hero Roger and his boys even tried to give the fish, Houston and Bills their best chance to beat NE in Gillette while making Brady play 7 away from home where he is close to invincible. But then you knew that you mischievous fellow.

Oh, it’s gratis. I don’t sweat the small stuff.

Besides you share the space formerly reserved strictly for slapstick comedy and bathroom humor, it hasn’t been used in quite some time. Pull up a chair and watch an Adam Sandler movie, they’re stored somewhere in there too.

  14. I see zero impact coming tomorrow from that player being put on the practice squad. Except maybe it will make the Bills paranoid and they will change things today and may cause them a false start or 2 on offense tomorrow.

  15. LOL! Pats wont pay Rob what he is worth so they sign his brother to make up for it?? Hilarious. The Gronk Party Bus must be really rocking these days.

And Gronk was drafed in 2010 and hasn’t spent a penny from his football paychecks yet.

Pats fans are pretty comfortable with Brady at the helm when the game is on the line. Even a Jests fan should know that.

  30. Gronkowski was cut by the Bills 3 weeks ago. Since then Rexy has canned the offensive coordinator. Maybe the new coordinator is using different schemes. Just sayin

  31. I’m not one to look up statistics on the fly, so I may stand corrected. But I just don’t remember a Hail Mary being a part of Brady’s repertoire. A Hail Mary always depends on either luck or an over zealous official. And that is just not how Belichick or Brady work. They will win or go down trying to out think you before they will depend on luck. Just another reason to appreciate being a Patriots fan.

Yes but what if he needs to throw a 70 yard pass to have a chance to win the game? All the Brazilian HGH in the world won’t help his 40 year old arm gain enough strength to push the football that far. Father time is undefeated.

If you actually followed the Pats under Belichick you’d know they didn’t rely on hail marys and luck when Brady was a kid and they had artillery arm Bledsoe under center.
The HGH comment is low rent even for you. Father time is in fact undefeated but I will wait until he gets in the ring before I worry about that fight. You however can continue to fantasize about it to your hearts content.
Speaking of fantasies no matter what you might think, Giselle would not be with you if it weren’t for mean old Tom. Maybe you should let go of the insecure hate and just enjoy watching one of the greats perform while you still can. I managed to enjoy watching Manning, Favre, Montana, Marino and many others work even when they were eviscerating my team. Greatness is where you find it, it has a beauty all it’s own and once it is gone it’s too late.

I suppose if they were in a last play Hail Mary scenario and the only play anyone on the coaching staff could think of was to throw a 70 yard pass they could have Brissett do it, since my understanding is that he has the strongest arm of the QB group.

I guess the schedule would have looked better if that for-crap Miami team would finally get rid of Joe Philbin and bring in a real coach. You know, someone young, a QB-whisperer type who can get the most out of Tannehill’s considerable talent.

  36. This is TOTALLY what Bill needed to get the jump on that mastermind Rex. I mean otherwise the Pats just didn’t have a chance.
