Pregame fracas in Foxboro

The Bills and Patriots are getting started early on Sunday.

Via multiple reports, Patriots receivers and Bills defensive backs engaged in a pregame scuffle. Ben Volin of the Boston Globe says Pats wideout Malcolm Mitchell “and a few coaches” were scuffling with Bills players near the New England sideline.

Here’s some video of the incident. Bills safety Robert Blanton gave Pats quarterback Jacoby Brissett a shove, and receiver Malcolm Mitchell intervened, trading shoves with Blanton.

Any pregame unsportsmanlike conduct fouls would count toward the two-per-player limit, so it makes sense to watch how this one gets resolved.

It also makes even more sense to watch the game between Buffalo and New England, the last one the home team will play without Tom Brady.

  1. If you watched the video on CBS just now, you’d see it was the classless Bills players that started and escalated it. No surprise from a Rex defense. Most undisciplined team in the league.

  2. This pretty much sums up the last few years of Rex Ryan coached teams. They pretend they are tough instead of actually being tough.

  3. Cmon Rex. Serious? Was this your pregame speech? Build a bully? Out-tough them?? There are a million tougher guys out there but there aren’t supposed to be any better pro football players. Stay focused you dope.

  4. Well when you have legitimate gripes about cheating, things can get turned up a notch.

  5. Shoving the banged-up, 3rd string QB as he’s running out onto the field… Classy.

  6. The Pats obviuosly started the fight.
They’re following the lead of their classless coach. Belli-cheat is a cheater and the only coach in nfl history to walk off the field of the SB when there was still time on the clock.
    But hey, cheaters gonna cheat

  7. Bills ownership would be smart to fire Rex if this game turns out to be an ass kicking by the Patriots.
They will have every excuse, Rex is embarrassing an already laughable franchise on and off the field every single week.

  8. What is the over/under on penalty yards by the Bills. 100? 150? 200? 250? The game hasn’t even started and the Patriots are in the Bills heads, especially the coaches.

  9. Of course this was initiated by the Bopsy Twins. They saw the illegal cheap shot tactics worked for the Broncos in the superbowl so they figured what the heck. They have nothing to lose. It’s not an important game for the Patriots so of course the Bills are going to try and draw them into some stupid action. Who cares. Only the Bills think it matters.

  10. Remember yesterday when WEEI Boston reported that Garopolo was starting?
    That’s some hard hitting journalism.
But I guess that’s what the “die hard ” Pats fans deserve. Those are the same Die hard fans that booed their team the entire first half

Because other “die hard” fans won’t boo the team they root for if they are playing poorly?

If you are a bills fan , enjoy. This will be your last meaningful win of the season IF they win.
