The Seahawks are placing linebacker Mike Morgan on injured reserve.
Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll told reporters on Monday that Morgan will have sports hernia surgery.
Morgan is in his sixth season with the Seahawks as a backup linebacker and special teams player. He’s played in 71 career games, starting four.
Carroll said the team will promote linebacker Jordan Tripp from the practice squad to fill Morgan’s spot on the active roster. The Seahawks are off next weekend.
