Vikings capitalize on turnover, go up 7-0

Minnesota Vikings v Carolina Panthers

The Vikings got a gift when Dwayne Harris of the Giants muffed a punt following their first series, and they turned that into the game’s first touchdown.

The Vikings had gone three and out after starting inside their own 5-yard line. After Marcus Sherels recovered the muffed punt, they went 41 yards in six plays and Matt Asiata scored on a short touchdown run.

The Vikings are really good defensively, and the Giants are going to have to earn everything they get offensively. The Giants have already been hurt by penalties and though they’ve had a little success running the ball with emergency starting running back Orleans Darkwa, they’ve punted on their first two possessions.
