Pierre Garcon, Ricky Jean Francois deliver medical supplies to Haiti

Washington defensive lineman Ricky jean Francois calls into the show to talk about the work he and teammate Pierre Garcon have done in Haiti and explains how the Redskins have won three straight games.

Concerns that the NFL might have to move Sunday’s Dolphins game from Miami due to Hurricane Matthew never materialized as the storm hit a different part of Florida before moving up the coast.

On its way to Florida, the storm pounded Haiti and several other Caribbean countries. Two Redskins players with ties to Haiti are spending Monday delivering help to the island rather than watching film of their victory over the Ravens.

Wide receiver Pierre Garcon and defensive lineman Ricky Jean Francois, who are both of Haitian descent, shared pictures from a team-owned plane filled with medical supplies provided by team owner Dan Snyder. Estimates are that over 900 Haitians died as a result of the storm and hundreds of thousands are in need of assistance in its aftermath.

The Redskins also organized a supply mission to the Bahamas over the weekend, sending a plane filled with goods to another one of the countries impacted by last week’s hurricane.
