With Lane Johnson serving a 10-game suspension, Eagles coach Doug Pederson has named rookie Halapoulivaati Vaitai the team’s starting right tackle.

Vaitai was a fifth-round pick last spring. He has yet to make a regular season appearance.

Pederson calls Vaitai “Big V,” which saves a lot of syllables. The Eagles’ official pronunciation guide says it’s Hal-lah-poo-lee-VAH-tee VIE-tie.

The team’s unofficial depth chart listed Allen Barbre at right tackle once Johnson was moved to the reserve/suspended list.
