It looks like Justin Forsett may not have to wait long for his first chance to contribute to the Lions offense.

The Lions signed Forsett early this week and they’re going to be without their leading rusher this Sunday against the Rams. Theo Riddick has been ruled out due to an ankle injury he suffered in last week’s victory over the Eagles.

Riddick was able to play through the injury last weekend, but he didn’t practice at all this week. In addition to leading the team in rushing, he’s also caught more passes than anyone other than Marvin Jones so the Lions will feel his absence in a couple of places.

Running back Dwayne Washington may also be a backfield option for the Lions. Washington is listed as questionable with an ankle injury that kept him out last week.

Defensive end Ziggy Ansah is also questionable with an ankle injury. Ansah didn’t play the last three weeks, but has been practicing all this week.

The Lions will also be without tight end Eric Ebron, linebacker DeAndre Levy and defensive tackle Haloti Ngata.
