Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant won’t play on Sunday as he continues recover from a hairline fracture in his knee. The decision to scratch Bryant for his third straight game may not be sitting well with him.

Bryant told NBC’s Heather Cox, who will be reporting from Lambeau Field after the Cowboys-Packers game on Football Night in America, that Bryant feels great and could play but that the decision isn’t up to him.

Dez worked out aggressively prior to the game, creating the impression that he would indeed be playing. One source who requested anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation observed Bryant in an animated discussion with a member of the team’s coaching staff, apparently expressing disagreement with the decision to not let him play.

The Cowboys are off next week. When they return to action in Week Eight against the Eagles on NBC’s Sunday Night Football, Bryant will have had five weeks to recover.
