Saints kicker Wil Lutz delivered the biggest kick of his young career to beat the Panthers last Sunday, and on Wednesday Lutz was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Lutz’s 52-yarder as time expired beat the Panthers in the weekend’s wildest game, 41-38. Lutz made five extra points and two field goals in the game.

He’s now 7-of-11 on field goals for the season.

Lutz is an undrafted rookie out of Georgia State. He spent the summer with the Ravens, who kept Pro Bowler Justin Tucker as their kicker, but Lutz is proving he’s pretty good in his own right.
