Dak Prescott lead Cowboys back quickly with deep ball

If there has been a criticism of rookie quarterback Dak Prescott as he’s led his team to a five-game winning streak, it’s that he’s not so much of a deep threat.

He turned that on its head in the first quarter, leading the Cowboys back to a 7-3 lead over the Eagles.

Prescott hit Dez Bryant for a 53-yard gain over the top to loosen things up, which led to a 7-yard touchdown run of his own.

The Cowboys certainly want to protect the rookie, but he’s averaging a healthy 8.2 yards per attempt, so it may not have been a valid argument earlier.

He’s showing confidence, and hitting Bryant downfield when he was single-covered is the kind of play he can make which could make his job permanent.
