Dolphins to “host” Saints in London next year

The Miami Dolphins will be giving up a home game to play in London next year.

The Dolphins will host the Saints across the pond in a game that will be counted as a Dolphins home game next season, a league source has confirmed to PFT.

It was expected that the Dolphins would be giving up a home game, as Miami was awarded the 2020 Super Bowl, and the NFL now requires any team that wants to host a Super Bowl to give up a home game to play in London.

The NFL has not announced anything about when the game will be or which London stadium will host the game. This year the league played two games in Wembley Stadium and one in Twickenham Stadium, all with early kickoffs in the United States. It is expected that at least three NFL games will be played in London next year as well.

  1. When are the Philadelphia Iggles going to have to make this trip , beings they are the GOLD STANDARD of AMERICAN FOOTBALL ?

  2. Well then I guess New England doesn’t have to worry about playing in London then. Cause for sure Goodell will never agree to show up in Foxboro for a regular game let alone the Superbowl.

  3. Disclaimer: Not a Dolphins fan. The NFL requiring a team to be forced to play in London if they want a Super Bowl to be played in their city is sweet retribution against the Dolphins. For a long time, they forced fans who wanted to buy tickets to their more popular games, i.e., Patriots, Jets, they forced those fans to also purchase tickets to games that they knew would be very, very, very sparsely attended. Karma is a b………..

  4. But then again, I can see Goodell forcing the Patriots to play in London just so he can claim that he is not afraid of attending a Patriots game. And although New England will never get the Superbowl, Goodell will use the threat of suspending Brady from their next Superbowl game unless the Patriots agree to play in London.
    Parity at its finest.

  5. Goodell continues to punish Saints (after fake Bountygate charges that were overturned by neutral party) by sending them to London. NFL should be forced to return draft choices that were stolen from a team that were least penalized that year and did not injury a grasshopper crossing the turf.

Other than they’ve already played there 2 or 3 times you’d be right.

Wasn’t giving up a home DIVISION game against the Jets enough? No other team has lost a division game to London

Nailed it, the purples are as bad as it gets

  11. Get rid of the London & Thursday (non Thanksgiving) games. Both are rubbish & over saturate a declining market.

  12. Big Deal! They just had possibly the best NFL game overseas yet and FOX switched away from the OT to bring us the kick-off between Houston and Detroit.

Then again, as far as the NFL is concerned, who cares about the game itself as long as we got to see the commercials.

  13. Worse r fan’s can been seen no wares, get that you sa-va English, worst bandwagon fan’s of the NFL, Thx Cuba, Denver broncos sent the sheriff off with a ring, were out for our 2nd of 3,that’s right, DYNASTY, (English) el-o dynasty-o cubo, gase we kicked his ass out & won a ring,DOLFINS suck,Marino will never enjoy being a champion, just a great qb,jackass fan’s, you make me sick, empty stadium and all, welcome gase2 the most pathetic franchise, and you know the best,we fired you, I am broncos country, representing worldwide BC-WW

  14. The only good thing about a London game is that I’m guaranteed to see the Dolphins on TV here in Atlanta. Other than that i feel bad for the season ticket holders. They should definitely be compensated or discounted

  15. Just one MORE reason why I no longer buy season tickets !
No more loyalty to an already weak fan base – ANOTHER shameful reason for Ross to sell the team to someone that cares about the fans too!

  16. GOOD! It is one less game that I have to pay for since it is a home game. So far, we have seen two really exciting games and one ugly win in OT, which was fun. We were shaking the terrible t-shirts! The Saints are always competitive opponents! Great Fun for the Brits!
