The Dolphins gave Bene Benwikere a shot, even if they didn’t put him in a game.

According to Tom Pelissero of USA Today, the Dolphins waived the cornerback they claimed off waivers from the Panthers Tuesday.

Benwikere hadn’t been active for a game, so they must not have liked the way he was practicing.

The Panthers cut the former fifth-rounder earlier this year, getting rid of a guy who was starting for them at a time when they were overhauling the position. He’s shown some flashes, but being released from a pair of secondary-needy teams is not a good sign for his future prospects.
