Texans promote guard Josh Walker

The Texans on Tuesday promoted guard Josh Walker from their practice squad to the active roster.

Walker broke into the league in 2014 as an undrafted rookie with the Colts. He finished his rookie season on the practice squad with the Packers, then played in 13 games for the Packers last season at both tackle and guard.

The Packers placed him on their injured-reserve list in late August, then released him from IR. The Texans signed him to their practice squad two weeks ago.

The Texans did not play last weekend. They’re at Jacksonville on Sunday.

  1. To the Texan fans, this is not an upgrade. He plays as if he is wearing cement shoes and does his best version of the human turnstile. About the worst thing I could say about him is that he plays offensive tackle and even the Vikings wouldn’t sign him. Uggh!

Well the good thing is you don’t promote players from your practice squad for upgrades, you promote them for backups in case of injury.
