Vikings have “no idea” when Sharrif Floyd will play again

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer revealed Thursday why defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd hasn’t been around the team’s facility for the last couple of weeks.

Zimmer said that Floyd has been rehabbing his knee away from the team, but is expected to rejoin the team on Thursday. That’s seven weeks after Floyd had knee surgery, but it isn’t a sign of an imminent return.

Zimmer said he has “no idea” when Floyd will practice or play, which appears to be in line with the amount of information the Vikings have had all along about Floyd’s injury.

“We didn’t think it was going to be six years’ worth of hurt,” Zimmer said when asked why Floyd wasn’t placed on injured reserve, via the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Shamar Stephen, Linval Joseph and Tom Johnson have been the defensive tackles with Floyd out of the picture, although Joseph didn’t practice on Wednesday due to a shoulder injury.
