Eagles long snapper Jon Dorenbos was slated to become a free agent in the offseason, but three additional years on his contract have magically appeared.

The Eagles announced today that they’ve signed Dorenbos to a three-year contract extension.

The 36-year-old Dorenbos is a two-time Pro Bowl long snapper and has been with the Eagles since 2006, having previously played for the Bills and Titans. The Eagles think he still has a few good years left in him and now have him locked up through 2019.

Dorenbos is also the most famous long snapper in the NFL: His skills as a magician have earned him gigs in Las Vegas and landed him on shows like America’s Got Talent and Ellen. Dorenbos took up magic as a diversion after his father murdered his mother when he was 12 years old, and he has been open about struggling to move forward in his life after that personal tragedy.

When he retires, Dorenbos plans to focus full-time on magic, but he now has some job security to ensure that he’ll remain on the football field for a few more years.
