The Bengals’ chances of making the playoffs took another blow against the Bills on Sunday and they’re worried that wide receiver A.J. Green may not be around to keep alive whatever hope may remain.
Green injured his hamstring during the 16-12 loss to Buffalo and Geoff Hobson of the team’s website reports that the team fears he will miss the final six games of the season. They believe Green tore his hamstring, although he will be headed for an MRI on Monday to confirm any initial diagnosis.
The loss would obviously be a massive one for a team that has won just one game since September 29. At 3-6-1, the Bengals aren’t dead in a division with two 5-5 teams at the top of the ladder but their offense hasn’t been piling up points with Green on the field and things won’t be any easier without him.
Monday should bring more word about Green’s outlook, but it doesn’t look good right now for Cincinnati’s top offensive weapon.
