Seahawks rookie running back C.J. Prosise has a “scapula issue” and will miss some time, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll told reporters after Sunday’s game.

Carroll said Prosise could return this year “but it will be a while.” The Seahawks figure to know more about his status in the coming days.

The Seahawks have been hit hard by injuries at running back — so hard that rookie backup quarterback Trevone Boykin was playing running back late in Sunday’s win over the Eagles.

Prosise had a 72-yard touchdown run Sunday before suffering the injury. Thomas Rawls, who was returning from a foot injury, came in and got 14 carries for 57 yards in the game. Troymaine Pope, just called up from the practice squad last week, also got two carries.

Pope also was injured during the game.

The Seahawks cut Christine Michael last week with Prosise emerging and Rawls returning. Rookie running back Alex Collins was inactive for Sunday’s game.

How can you even make this determination considering he’s a rookie? SMH.

  2. Rawls is healthy and collins is on the roster. Pull brooks off whatever practice squad he’s on if Pope isn’t good.
Regardless, we’re winning without Bennett and a “below average offensive line”

  3. Tough day for injuries, but nevertheless, how about the effort of that OL against one of the top DL’s in the NFL. Great effort from the hawks at home after a short week of preparation!

    Go HAWKS!

  4. Prosise is an immensely talented athlete. But at Notre Dame his senior year he suffered a concussion against Pittsburgh then sprained his ankle against Boston College and ended up on crutches. In his rookie year with the Seahawks, this is now his third injury.

Thomas Rawls also has amazing skills but in his short time with the ‘Hawks he is now returning from his second major injury.

Incredible talent is important but you have to be able to stay on the field.

  5. It seems like injuries to key players have been the only thing to slow down the Seahawks at all in the past few years. We all know that health (and luck) is paramount to getting to and winning a Super Bowl. Right now, it’s Seattle and Dallas in the NFC and everybody else. The key will be who is playing well and if Seattle can get Bennett back and at full speed, I like their chances.

  6. George Farmer is on the PS 6-1 220 exact same size as CJP but in his 2nd yr (23 yrs old). I would expect he gets called up and they look for a different RB other than Brooks because if he is on a practice squad he would have to be on the active roster. Farmer is a good player and a lot more physical, Hawks fans will like him.
