Cardinals defensive back Tyrann Mathieu is out for another week.

Mathieu, listed as questionable with a shoulder injury, is not expected to play today against the Vikings, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians had sounded optimistic last week that Mathieu could return soon, but the Cardinals are likely to play it safe with Mathieu, who is very talented but also very prone to injury.

Today’s game will be the second Mathieu has missed with the shoulder injury. He has missed at least two games in all four of his NFL seasons.

With Mathieu out, the job Patrick Peterson does covering Stefon Diggs will be even more important.
