The Jaguars placed veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis on their injured-reserve list Monday.
Lewis suffered a calf injury during Sunday’s loss at Detroit.
A first-round pick in 2006, Lewis has played his entire career in Jacksonville. He started all 16 games last year and had started all 10 this year. Lewis has 28 career touchdown receptions and had one this season.
The Jaguars filled their open roster spot by claiming defensive tackle Jordan Hill via waivers from the Redskins.
Earlier Monday, the Jaguars activated offensive tackle Josh Wells placed guard Patrick Omameh on injured-reserve. Wells was on the injured-reserve list but was designated for return.
