The Vikings have some injury issues as they head to Detroit to face the Lions on Thanksgiving.

Cornerback Terence Newman, a key player on the Vikings’ defense, is listed as doubtful with a neck injury. And receiver Stefon Diggs, who leads the team in catches and receiving yards, is listed as questionable with a knee injury. Diggs hasn’t practiced this week.

Other Vikings listed as questionable are safety Harrison Smith (ankle), linebacker Eric Kendricks (hip) and cornerback Captain Munnerlyn (ankle).

The Vikings have ruled out defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (knee) and cornerback Marcus Sherels (rib/ankle).

  1. All I’ve been hearing from Viking fans in reference to Green Bay is, No excuses, injuries happen to every team. Lets see if this still holds once they get beat in Detroit.

  2. If 2016 can be the year of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Cubs, and a President-Elect nobody saw coming two years ago, then this is also the YEAR OF THE DETROIT LIONS!!!

  3. With Newman out, I wonder what the over/under is on Trae Waynes’ pass interference penalties?

  4. If Newman can’t go, he’ll be replaced by Waynes, and Alexander will get more playing time.

And why the heck is Sharif Floyd taking up a roster spot instead of sitting on IR? The guy hasn’t played in months, and doesn’t appear that he’ll be back anytime soon.

The vikes are down 4 starting Olinemen, 1 starting RB , 1 starting QB, 1starting DT, and likely a few extra starters this week. You won’t hear any excuses from me if we lose. I wouldn’t put money down that the Vikings win (I think it will be close), but I’d bet you $50 the Vikings are more competitive than the packers have been the last four weeks…

$5,000,0000….there, I fixed that for you. Easy money.

  7. Talented team without enough depth. Could be great in a year or two. Shame the injuries have ruined the Vikings and packers seasons. I was looking forward to a great stretch run in the North.

Newman blow out a tennis ball on his walker?

And yet, that old man can play circles around any of those young stud CBs in Green Bay.

You mean the Packers 4th, 6th and 7th CBs, the latter being just activated today from IR? Yeah, I’ll give you that.

Packers had no problem beating Detroit in Detroit…

Umm, actually the game they played already this year was in Lambeau, and the Packers won by a touchdown. Not exactly no problem. Last year on Thanksgiving the Packers needed a gift from there referees vto be in position to win on a hail mary, not exactly no problem, and the Lions were worse last year!

No excuses, every team has injuries. The Lions have been missing their best running back and best linebacker all year, it’s called next man up! A good G.M. will build a team with depth because he realizes that 8njuries are inevitable in the NFL.

Out of all the CBS on the Packer’s roster, the only one you can say has played better than Newman is Shields. And, he’s not even a strong candidate for ever returning to the field. No matter who he plays for, he’d be crazy to risk his mental health, for the remainder of his life, just to play more football.

Ummm… Yea I was wrong calling the game in Detroit instead of Lambeau. You were wrong on the Hail Mary game, it was Dec 3rd… not Thanksgiving.
Last… Green Bay scored 34 points in the first half and shut it down in the second, it was seven points because Green Bay took its foot off the gas so they would not run it up.

    )))))))))))))))))))

Yeah he is really old for a CB. But he is also better than any CB playing for the packers now. See if you can keep it under 40 this week.
